Australians are seeking financial counselling in record numbers, and it’s not only single and low income households that are feeling the pinch.

Calls to the The National Debt Helpline are up almost 50 percent in the past two years, and are now at levels approaching call volumes received during the Covid pandemic.

And the people seeking assistance include a growing number of dual income families as well as people working two or more jobs to make ends meet.
