For several years, the Regional Economic Development Center (REDC) at Yavapai College has submitted local price data to the organization that publishes cost of living figures for cities across the US. Ryan Jones, an economist at the REDC, highlights a notable trend from the Cost-of-Living Index (COLI): grocery prices. Over the last five years, grocery prices in Prescott have seen record increases, rising to a rate that’s six times higher than the average over the past 40 years.
