Tickets for the 2026 Yavapai County State of the County event are nearly sold out, and the ticket portal will officially close on Monday, September 7, 2026. The City of Kingman is notifying residents and motorists of temporary street closures in downtown Kingman for the First Friday event taking place on Friday, September 4, 2026. Street closures will be in effect from 2:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and will include a full-width hard closure of Beale Street between 1st Street and 6th Street. The closure will extend curb-to-curb and will be reserved for pedestrian traffic and event staff to help provide a safe environment for attendees. The Phoenix Fire Department commemorated its 140th anniversary Tuesday morning with a celebratory event honoring generations of firefighters who have served the community since the days of horse‑drawn apparatus. City leaders, department officials, and members of Local 493 gathered at Historic Fire Station 8 to reflect on the department’s legacy and its continued evolution. The Prescott Valley Police Department (PVPD) is committed to reducing crime and the fear of crime in our community. As part of this effort, PVPD is offering a free class to help residents learn about current fraud trends, understand common scams, and recognize when they may be targeted by fraudsters.

The next class is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11am at 7601 E Skoog Blvd, Prescott Valley, Arizona. It will be held in the PVPD training room to the right of the main lobby doors. The class is about an hour with time at the end for questions.

No reservations are necessary; doors open around 10:45am. This class is open to anyone 18 and older, as childcare will not be provided. We look forward to meeting you all.

The Prescott National Forest (PNF) will begin aggregate road surface improvements on National Forest System Road 373 starting Thursday. This essential project will target a 1.5-mile stretch of the road located off Thumb Butte Road within the Bradshaw Ranger District. The upcoming work is designed to repair existing erosion, enhance overall road conditions and prevent future structural degradation.
