A mixed affective state, formerly known as a mixed-manic or mixed episode, has been defined as a state wherein features unique to both depression and mania—such as despair, fatigue, morbid or suicidal ideation, racing thoughts, pressure of activity, and heightened irritability—occur either simultaneously or in very short succession.
Note from Author: Here are real life scenarios of a Mixed Affective in a bipolar person. Not only is a disruptive fit of rage, but irritability, suicidality and racing thoughts. I am very embarrassed of having these episodes, but it is highly possible when someone doesn't have the right "cocktail" of medications. You may view me as a complete derogatory, and incompetent bastard, but I cannot change the fact that I was a completely impatient and angry person. I am currently taking Latuda, an antipsychotic since 2014. It has greatly calmed down my mixed affective states. Thank you for watching. I hope you can comment below.
