Episode 25– A Conversation We Need to Have
In this episode of Recovering Idiots, Justin and I are joined by Steph for a deeply honest and difficult conversation about sexual assault.
Steph talks openly about who she was before the assault, what changed afterwards, and the impact it has had on her life — including living with depression and PTSD and struggling with the everyday demands of being a mum.
We talk about the shame, guilt and stigma that can surround sexual assault, and the things people often say or do that can make an already painful experience even harder.
Most importantly, we asked Steph: What would you like to see change in the way society talks about and responds to sexual assault?
This is a heavy conversation, but it's an important one. We’re grateful to Steph for trusting us enough to share her story, and we hope this episode helps create more understanding, compassion and conversation.
