  • Halie's story

One of the biggest perks of social media is meeting new friends! Halie and I share similar interests/niches on social media which allowed our worlds to collide. I'm super grateful that we were able to connect and record an episode together. I am looking forward to our future collab!

  • Ted's story

Welcome, Ted, to the podcast! Today I got to sit down with my dear friend, Teddy Graham, to talk about the beauties for recovery. I learned that Ted has always wanted to be on a podcast, he was in a fraternity, and has never eaten sushi! I know my mind is still blown.
I hope you get to enjoy this episode as much as I do!

  • Lesley flips the script

The host of Recovery Scene, Lesley, flips the script and interviews me. Lesley is a wife, a mother, and a sober savage. Lesley and I were able to connect on many levels, but my favorite is the fact that we are both Certified Recovery Coaches!

  • Joe's story

I am so grateful that I was able to sit down and catch up with Joe! When I hear people share about what it was like, what happened, and what it is like now; it allows me to connect on a deeper level with them. And, that's what I got to experience with Joe. We may have different stories, but the plotline is all the same.

    Thanks Joe!

  • Sisters spill the tea

My sister, Shelby, my sister-in-law, Becca, and I talk about what it is like for them on the other side of addiction.
For many families, battling addiction is their reality. It was for us.
My sister talks about what it was like dealing with an addict (me) while in active addiction. She also touches on the steps she took to plan an intervention. Lastly, she talks about what it looks like for the family now that I am in recovery.
I will always be grateful for the steps that she took to help me get sober. Always remember that we are Cardinal Strong and that I Love You More.

(Fun Fact: I have two brothers and two sisters, not all were mentioned in the podcast, but they have also been a huge part of my recovery journey as well. I appreciate you all for the endless amounts of love and support you have brought to my life.)

  • Acceptance

Acceptance isn't the easiest thing to achieve. At first, for us, the concept of acceptance was foreign. We had no idea how to apply it to our lives. Therefore, it was not a commonly used word in our vocabulary.
During this episode, you will hear how we learned to accept the somewhat good, kinda bad, and wicked ugly situations.

  • Facing the past

When you have one foot in yesterday, and the other foot in tomorrow, you're left pissing on today.

Do you have guilt or shame about your past? Because we sure did! With a little bit of acceptance and a few amends we were able to let go and grow.

  • Boredom

Did you, too, think that sobriety would be boring? Because, of course, that was my biggest fear. But, low and behold, that's not the case!
What do you do to steer clear of boredom? My favorite is kickin' it with my luppies!
