Is it worth it?

In today’s message, Michael is digging into following Jesus and the commitment required.  Therefore, we have to wonder, is it worth it?  He is studying Elijah and Elisha and where Elisha follows Elijah, Elijah simply following him by understanding the gravity of the call and saying goodbye to the life he knew.  Similar to us following Jesus, there are things we will have to say goodbye to things. There is a cost to following the ways of the Lord.

If we’re ready to quit on God as soon as things get difficult, is our faith really in Him or in the easy life we feel He owes us?

Michael preaches today from 1 Kings 19: 19-21.

New Life and Baptism.

In today’s message, Michael is examining the act of Baptism.  It is our first significant decision after accepting Jesus and Michael discusses the seriousness of this act.  It’s about understanding and belief and the example shown in Acts shows this clearly.

Michael preaches today from Acts 8: 26-40  as well as Isaiah Chapter 53.

Seek God and His Righteousness

In today’s message, Billy Huneycutt dives into our lives we live today during the pandemic.  Lives of isolation and of being afraid.  Staying at home and worrying and being scared and desperate.  We are not however, the first generation of worry or having doubts about what is happening around us.  Billy uses past generations in the Word to show that others have been afraid and that if we seek the Lord and His Righteousness, He will deliver us from doubt, worry and being scared.

Billy preaches today from Numbers 13 and 14 as well as 2 Chronicles 7: 4-14.

I Get Down, He Lifts Me Up.

Today’s message continues our study of Elijah and he is now in a cave and the word of the Lord comes into his heart, saying, “What are you doing here?”.  Thus begins Elijah’s journey to be in the presence of the Lord.  Massive winds blast the cliffs but the Lord was not in the wind.  An earthquake follows, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.  Then a fire and, yet again, the Lord was not in the fire.  But then came, a gentle whisper, that is when Elijah knew it was the Lord.

Elijah was down but the Lord lifted him up.  Knowing the Lord doesn’t mean you’ll never get down but it does mean you won’t *stay* down!

Today’s bible verses are found in 1 Kings 19: 1-18.

Crisis Makes Us Choose.

Today’s message continues our study of Elijah and he is in the midst of a drought.  It was so bad that the King was out looking for water for his animals, but the Word of the Lord comes to Elijah and he gives the message to King Ahab.  And the message wasn’t what the King wanted to hear!  The showdown that ensues is the story’s theme, that “Crisis Makes Us Choose”.

Today’s bible verses are found in 1 Kings 18, using the entire chapter.  Pastor Michael starts the message at verse 21.

Blindsided.

Today’s message continues our study of Elijah and Elisha with the central theme of “God Is There And God Cares!”.  Our topic today is about being blindsided.  Even when we didn’t see it coming, God sees where it’s going.

Today’s bible verses are found in 1 Kings 17: 17-24.

Today’s message continues our study of Elijah and Elisha with the central theme of “God Is There And God Cares!”.

Our topic today is that when is seems like we don’t have enough, God IS enough.  We have to get over that it looks like enough when it is enough!  If you’ll give God your “not enough” He will make it enough!

Today’s bible verses are found in 1 Kings 17: 7-15.

Today’s message continues our study of Elijah and Elisha with the central theme of “God Is There And God Cares!”.

Waiting is our topic today and our Michael take-away is, “While we’re waiting, God is working!”.  As an example, a word from the Lord might be more mundane than we think.  But we have the written word of God so we don’t have to wait around to hear a voice for us to make good decisions.  And the word from the Lord might just be, “Wait”.
