If we are saved by faith, then why does the law exist? According to Paul, it exists to drive us to despair and hopelessness so that we can joyfully receive the promise of the Gospel of hope.

Our salvation is not rooted in our own works, but in God's faithfulness to His covenant promise. This should be a source of encouragement and exhortation for God's people.

In this passage Paul unpacks the beauty of the gospel: that Jesus bears the curse we are under because of our disobedience of the law of God.

Does God have multiple plans of salvation? Were the Old Testament saints saved in a different way than we are today?

Is faith only necessary for entrance into God's people? Or, is it also necessary for living as God's people?

How do we find favor in God's eyes? How are we accepted before Him? Is it through works of the law or faith in Jesus Christ?

Intellectually understanding the gospel does not mean that we always live out the gospel, as was the case with Peter in this message.

The proclamation, application, and preservation of the gospel must all be actively guarded by the church.

The gospel was more than mere theological statements for Paul. It was something that radically changed his life.
