The top news today, was in Cleveland.  Josh McCown is most likely their starting quarterback, in 2015.  Brian Hoyer, a free agent, most likely will not be retained, after this signing.  Johnny Manziel, is getting his life back on track, in rehab.  Is this another long list of fails for Cleveland?  The Browns list of quarterbacks, to start a game, since 1999, continues to grow.  What are your thoughts on the signing of McCown?  The Green Bay Packers apparently are ready to bring B.J. Raji back.  He missed 2014, because of a torn triceps.  Before last season, Raji was a free agent.  However, his 2013 campaign was probably his worst professional season.  Therefore, the Packers signed him, to a one year deal.  Do you think that Raji has something to prove this year?  Will this be a good signing?

The NBA as always is flying under the radar again.  They take the back seat to NFL football when their season starts, then have a month of coverage for the All-Star break, and trade deadline.  Then back to normal with Spring Training starting, and March Madness right around the corner.  How do you think the NBA can be more prominent during the other professional sports seasons?  Do you think that the only highlight of the NBA season, is the playoffs? In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will recap the 2015 NFL Combine, that was held, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  NFL draft prosects were invited to this event, that included speed and agility drills, along with team interviews. Some prospects had a chance to speak to the media, and one in particular wants to the be the "Face of a Franchise".  Jameis Winston said numerous times that he just wants to be the "Face of the Franchise."  What was your reaction to this phrase?  What players do you think improved their draft stock? In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will talk some NFL football.  The NFL Combine has started, and the offesnive lineman and tight ends took the field.

The biggest suprise of day one, Ali Marpet, offensive lineman from Hobart.  Hobart is a Division III school, in Geneva, NY.  Marpet was the only Division III invite, and is running with the "Big Boys".  Marpet was not intimidated today, as he ran a 4.98, 40 yard dash.  The lineman are also timed, in a 10 yard split.  Marpet was clocked at 1.74.  The offensive line class, is very deep this year.  There are a number of lineman that could become first round draft picks.

As teams search for the next Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski, the tight end position has become relevant.  However, there were no jaw dropping 40 times from any of the tight ends.  The fastest time of the day was produced by Mycole Pruitt, from Southern Illinois (4.58).

In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec take the topics, that our Twitter followers want to discuss.  In tonights episode, of "Twitter Talk", the NFL combine starts this weekend.  Also, there are a number of teams that could use the franchise tag, on their top players, before free agency starts, on March 2nd.  The franchise tag can keep a player, for one more year.  Even though, they will be paid near the top of thier position, some players do not want the franchise tag.  This tag restricts them from testing the open market.  They are not obligated to sign the tag, so the teams must come up with a long term plan.  Many times the tag is used for the team to figure out how to sign this player, to a long term deal.  Other times, it is a way for the team to save some money, and get one more year out of a good player.  What are your thoughts, on the franchise tag?  Should the NFL continue to have this tool, or should they get rid of it?  Listen in or call the show.
