As the apostle Paul considers the question of the Jewish rejection of the gospel he addresses an even more critical question, what does that rejection say about the promises of God, has God's word failed in regard to Israel- As he answers, he also reveals glorious truths about God's election and his grace.

In these opening verses of this section of Romans -chapters 9 - 11-, Paul expresses his intense sorrow over Israel's rejection of Christ, especially in the light of the great benefits that his people enjoyed in the past.

The topic of the Christian's assurance is front and center in these final verses of Romans 8, as Paul brings to a glorious close this section of the letter. There is much here for the true Christian to give thanks to God for as we see how we can be, as Paul was, sure that nothing in all of creation can separate Christians from the love of God in Christ Jesus. In this week's message we consider some of the most well-known words of the New Testament, and in them, news of a great promise and the grand purpose of God's work.

The Holy Spirit helps us in so many ways. The apostle Paul describes some of them here in Romans 8. In verses 26 - 27 he mentions one that you may not even be aware of, but is one of the most essential that can be imagined.

Question- How do we compare our suffering here to the glory waiting there- Answer- We don't. We can't. That is Paul's message in these verses from Romans 8.
