In these verses, Paul moves from the topic of Guilt to that of Grace, God's grace, and the wondrous doctrine of Justification, the doctrine on which the church stands and falls, according to Martin Luther. And at the center of it all is Jesus Christ, the redeemer of his people, by his own righteousness, received by faith alone.

In verses 9 - 20 of chapter 3 of Romans, Paul brings to a conclusion his devastating indictment of mankind regarding their sin and guilt before God. His conclusion comes in the form of a charge- a charge which he proves with the support of several Old Testament passages. This worst of bad news prepares us for the best of good news to come.

In this week's sermon, Pastor Gene considers the opening verses of Romans 3, where Paul continues to address possible objections to what he has been teaching concerning the Jews in chapter 2.
