Amy Goodman is collecting the testimony of Anthony Aguilar, retired Lt. Colonel who served 25 years in the US Army in Special Forces, as a Green Beret . He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
He joined the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, hoping to right the wrong US politics had done so far, but after a couple of months, he was so shocked by the reality of their "so called" humanitarian actions that as a soldier, as a man of moral, he had no choice but resign a n incredibly well paid job.
But, as he says, money can't buy me a conscience.
Amy Goodman (DM ! anchor) :" We're gonna end it there but I wanted to be very clear.
You saw, you saw, former US military, you saw IDF, you saw the Israeli soldiers opening fire on hungry Palestinians ?"
Anthony Aguilar : "Without a doubt, Yes. Full stop."
LT. Colonel Aguilar was hired a a private contractor, he figured he would work to help USA feed hungry and suffering people of Gaza, he discovered a heart-braking reality that led him to resign but before that, he shot videos showing the reality of what US and IOF assassins are doing there.
As more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed seeking aid at militarized aid distribution sites run by the U.S.- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a former GHF security contractor tells Democracy Now! he saw U.S. mercenaries and Israeli forces commit war crimes by indiscriminately shooting at starving Palestinians waiting for aid.
“What I witnessed in Gaza, I can only describe as a dystopian, post-apocalyptic wasteland,” says Anthony Aguilar, a retired U.S. soldier who worked as a subcontractor with UG Solutions in the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid delivery operation.
“We, the United States, are complicit. We are involved, hand in hand, in the atrocities and the genocide that is currently undergoing in Gaza.”
