In this week's text, we see in Jesus a resolute commitment and contentment to the will and glory of God, even in the face of the cross and the horrors that await Him. Tanner reminds us that the beauty of the Gospel is that we get to live by faith as a son or daughter, and not as though we have a transactional relationship with God where our obedience gives us His love and disobedience invokes disappointment.
