Pastor Paul Edwards takes us to Psalm 42 and Psalm 103 to show the difference between a "cast down" soul and a "bowed down" soul. A proper celebration of Thanksgiving depends upon the difference.
Ephesians 4 marks the division of Paul's letter to the Ephesians from his emphasis on doctrine (chapters 1 - 3) to his instruction on the practical aspects of the Christian life (chapter 4 - 6). Paul marks this division with the word "therefore," a clear indication that there is a vital connection between what it is we believe and how it is we behave as followers of Jesus. Before moving forward in our study, we must make absolutely certain we understand that the behavior Paul is identifying in the second half of his letter is impossible without the initiative of God in our regeneration.
What are you not asking God for, not because you believe He is unable to answer your prayers, but you are afraid He is unwilling to answer your prayers? Pastor Edwards traces the power of God in the New Testament to give us an understanding of the power of God which is at work in us when we pray.
We consider the Necessity of Regeneration and the Nature of Regeneration: God is the creative agent in our regeneration and the instrument he uses is always the Word of God, which produces a change in the governing disposition of our soul and a desire for and an understanding of spiritual realities.
On the Sixth Anniversary of the first service of Redeemer Church, Pastor Paul Edwards reminds us of the foundational standards which give stability to our life together as a church family.
