Ps Justin Thompson from Manawaru Bible Chapel preached the second of our advent series on waiting on the fulfilment of promises and why we can hope in Christ.

It is Advent 2019! In this sermon, Ps Anthony teaches on the Christian discipline of waiting. In our day and in our culture patience is seen more as a vice than a virtue but waiting and expectation has always marked God's people.

Habakkuk starts the books complaining to God and by the end of the book he is praising God. In this last sermon in our series in the book of Habakkuk, Ps Anthony preaches through chapter 3.

Contrary to popular opinion there are not multiple ways to live or a plethora of lifestyle choices, there are only two ways to live; either for God or for self. In this sermon, Ps Anthony opens up Habakkuk 2:4-20 and shows that the folly of the Babylonians 2600 years ago is the same folly at work in the human heart today.

When we consider why God would permit or even ordain suffering it raises intellectual, emotional and theological questions in all of us. In this sermon, Ps Anthony explores some concepts of theodicy (God's justification in allowing suffering) as it's prompted by Habakkuk's complaints to God.

Psalm 77

It was our joy to have Ps Kyllum Lewis of Life Centre Church, Brisbane with us at Redeemer on Sunday.

Preaching through Psalm 77, Kyllum graciously shared his story and reminded us of the big story and how God is always with us in our suffering; loving us and working out His purposes. What a great hope we have in Him who truly loves us.

Habakkuk has made his prayer to God. "How long shall I cry for help, and you will not hear?" and now the Lord replies. In this sermon Ps Anthony unpacks how God's goodness and His sovereignty is seen in the response to Habakkuk, even though it is not what Habakkuk was expecting.

Many people consider Christianity to be a religion of restrictions and the idea of religious commandments and rules is anti-freedom. In this sermon, Ps Anthony teaches how the commandments of the Christian faith are actually liberating and the commission of Jesus to make disciples of every nation is an invitation into true freedom.
