Most people don’t enjoy conflict. It’s messy and uncomfortable and can often cause pain. We simply don’t like when people are upset with us and vice versa. Yet in many relationships, conflict is inevitable and frequent. So how does God want us to deal with it? In this sermon, Pastor Mitch explores how conflict and confrontation, when handled the right way, can actually be a good thing that moves the body of Christ forward into better community.

When the Word of God became a humble human, he didn’t disguise who God is but revealed Him. When Jesus was whipped, beaten, bruised, and battered beyond recognition, we were able see him for who he truly is. The cross is the ultimate revelation of the heart and nature of a God who lived and loved to serve. For us, to have hive mind is to think and act like our servant-savior, Jesus. If we’re honest, there’s a noticable gap in between where we are and where we want to be. When we feel stuck, we’ll often hear the advice, “think outside the box.” This is precisely what Paul is calling the first-century Christ-followers in Rome to do: get out of the rut of law-based thinking and onto Spirit-led living.
