Jesus was born to fulfill the Old Testament, which changes everything for those He came to rescue.

Jesus, the Great Shepherd-King, sends His people out on mission as sheep among wolves. Therefore, all of Christ’s followers will experience persecution of some kind, but can completely trust in His sovereign care in the process.

King Jesus’ compassion for the lost leads Him to command His people both to pray for and go into His mission field.

King Jesus demonstrates his authority over a fallen world by delivering people from death, infirmity, and demons, giving us a foretaste of his ultimate restoration of all things.

King Jesus shows that He is indeed making all things new as he demonstrates His authority to forgive sins, bring sinners back into fellowship with God and establish a new covenant with His people.

King Jesus came to overturn the curse through His life, death, burial and resurrection. This was promised in the Old Testament, inaugurated in Jesus’ first coming, and will be brought to completion when He returns and makes all things new.

Jesus sets two ways before us: the way of the kingdom and the way of destruction. Those who follow the way of the King are poor in spirit, trust Christ completely and obey Him as King.
