Jesus' miracle of changing the water into wine is a rich metaphor of the abundant life that is ours by grace through faith.

"Regular participation in God's ordinary means of grace will cause you to grow and improve in His grace, which will grow and improve your ability to walk in step with the Spirit of God, so that you may put to death the lusts of the flesh through the Spirit's power."

The Holy Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are children of God if indeed we suffer in our flesh by resisting sin, just as Christ suffered in His flesh when resisting sin.
