At Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC, our senior pastor continued in our Matthew sermon series, looking again in Matthew 6 at the Lord's Prayer. We began looking at the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 focusing on the first word "our." Jesus prays "OUR Father," not MY Father--though God the Father certainly is Jesus' father. Jesus uses "our" because it's a community word, and it's vital that we're connected to community life. If we want to flourish in our lives, we must live and pray in community.
