In Psalm 32 David invites us neither to deny our guilt or to be defined by it, but rather to prayerfully engage it and find that it actually leads to a good thing. He paradoxically shows that the most joyful people in the world are not those who don’t experience guilt, but are the ones who own their guilt and take it to Jesus.

“Whether it’s related to relationships, body image, work difficulties, or a secret sin, we all experience shame at some point in our lives. While shame can manifest itself in different ways - fear, regret, or anger - it ultimately points us to our most fundamental need as human beings: redemption.” Heather Davis Nelson

Tim Lane says “Everyone worries, and while it may become a familiar companion in our lives, it never becomes a welcome one. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a way to worry less, or not to worry at all, in the midst of your struggles?” Dan, Sean, and Ross discuss the dynamics of fear and how the Psalms help us engage them effectively.

What does it look like to navigate loneliness with wisdom and trust? Ross is joined by Redeemer member Anne Larsen to tackle this sadly prevalent topic.

How do we properly understand and cope with our sadness from a biblical perspective, and how can we helpfully move towards others in their sadness as well? What, too, can Winnie the Pooh characters and the movie ‘Inside Out’ teach along the way?

Life is hard and often hurts; hurt is a common thread that underlies many other emotions. Resentment is a typical unhealthy response to hurt, forgiveness is a more difficult but healing response to hurt. How can we allow the hurt in our lives move us towards healing?
