August 30, 2026 - The Lamb opens the seals, and conquest, war, scarcity, death, persecution, and cosmic upheaval appear. These are not exotic realities reserved for one final generation. They are the recurring realities of life in the present age. The four horsemen expose the forces that human rebellion releases into the world. Political conquest creates war. War produces scarcity. Scarcity and injustice produce death. Beneath the altar, the martyrs cry, “How long?”
Revelation does not silence that cry. Faith does not require pretending that suffering is small. The prayers of the wounded enter the throne room. The chapter ends with a question: “Who can stand?” That question prepares for Revelation 7. We do not stand because history is stable, suffering is understandable, or we are naturally strong. We stand because we belong to the Lamb.

August 23, 2026 - A sealed scroll contains God’s purpose for creation, but no one is worthy to open it. John weeps because history appears locked: the world is full of suffering, yet no one can bring God’s purposes to completion. Then John hears that the Lion has conquered. He turns and sees a Lamb standing as though slaughtered. Jesus is worthy not because he possesses the greatest capacity for coercion but because he has faithfully given himself. The wounds of Jesus are not erased by resurrection. They have become the identifying marks of the King. The Lamb takes the scroll, and the throne room erupts in worship. His blood has ransomed a diverse people and made them a kingdom of priests. The Lamb’s victory creates a worshiping, reconciling, priestly people from every tribe, language, people, and nation.

August 16, 2026  - John is invited through an open door and immediately sees a throne. Before Revelation shows the church the convulsions of history, it establishes the center of history. The throne is surrounded by beauty, worship, covenant signs, living creatures, and representatives of the people of God. Everything around the throne is alive with praise. The elders repeatedly surrender their crowns because all derivative authority belongs beneath the authority of the Creator. The church often experiences life from the edges: illness, political anxiety, institutional uncertainty, family suffering, cultural change, and fears about the future. Revelation reorients us. The apparent center of the world is not the actual center. Washington is not the center. Markets are not the center. Our fears are not the center. Even the church is not the center.
The throne is the center, and the One upon it is worthy because he created and sustains all things.

August 2, 2026 - Laodicea is wealthy, comfortable, successful, and blind to its need. They say, “I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing,” but Jesus says they are poor, blind, naked, and pitiable. Their lukewarmness is not mere spiritual boredom; it is self-sufficiency. They think they are hosting Jesus, but he is outside knocking. The invitation is to open the door, not by getting cleaned up first, but by becoming needy enough to receive his hospitality. Jesus comes to refine, clothe, heal, feed, and restore love.

July 26, 2026 - Philadelphia is weak but faithful. They have little power, but they have kept Jesus’ word and have not denied his name. This sermon gives the series a needed word of encouragement: Jesus is not looking for impressive strength, but enduring faithfulness. He places before them an open door that no one can shut, and he promises permanence, belonging, and a secure name. Love is sustained not by our strength, but by Christ’s faithfulness to hold his people.

July 19, 2026 - Sardis has a reputation for being alive, but Jesus says they are dead. This is the frightening possibility of spiritual self-deception: a church can look active, successful, and impressive while lacking true life. Their works are incomplete. Their attention has drifted. Their life has become hollow. Jesus calls them to wake up, strengthen what remains, remember what they received, keep it, and repent. The hope is renewal: Christ can give life where there is only appearance.
