All of the pain, evil, suffering and death in the world today can be traced either directly or indirectly to sin. When He died and rose again, Jesus Christ began to reverse the curse. When He returns in glory, all of nature will be renewed and those who have trusted in Christ will be blessed with bodies fitted for eternity in Heaven. In the meantime, believers have the unique privilege of suffering for Christ.

Our ultimate hope as believers is in the Lord Jesus Christ, who left the glories of Heaven for the express purpose of suffering and dying for the sins of all who believe. His obedient suffering qualified Him to be our merciful and gracious Great High Priest. Those who trust in Him are encouraged to come to Him in our times of need, knowing we come to the God/man who was tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sin.
