  • 25. Enough Emotional Chaos Already! Find Balance with 3 Simple Words
You can have every reason to feel confident and still struggle to find your footing.
In this episode, we explore why true, God-led success is about more than reaching a goal. It’s about having the peace, purpose, and perspective to keep moving without letting fear, regret, comparison, or disappointment take the wheel and make you feel like a failure, steal your confidence, and weaken your emotional resilience.

Through Psalm 40 and a personal story of calling, you’ll learn how God can lift you out of the pit, steady your thoughts, and give you a firm place to stand. Your emotions are real, and they deserve to be acknowledged but they were never meant to determine the direction of your life.
    In this episode, you’ll discover:
    • Why success without peace can still feel like failure
    • How an untrained mind becomes vulnerable to the loudest thought
    • Why obedience is not restriction, but freedom and alignment
    • How to recognize the lies that keep you stuck
    • Why your emotions can speak without being allowed to steer
    • What it means to retrain your brain with God’s truth
    • The pit is not where your story ends. Look up from the fear, the disappointment, and the thoughts taking up too much room in your mind. God can lift you, steady you, and help you move forward with confidence.
      Scriptures Mentioned
      • Psalm 40:1–2
      • Acts 20:24
      • John 14:15

      • 24. Success, Parenting & the Pressure to Get It Perfect: The Conversation with Naomi Parsons I Almost Didn’t Share

What does successful parenting really look like and who gets to define it? In this conversation with Naomi Parsons, host of the Peaceful Christian Parenting Podcast, we explore how comparison, fear of judgment, perfectionism, control, and unrealistic expectations can leave parents feeling as though they have failed. Naomi shares a perspective rooted in emotional regulation and faith, inviting Christian moms to release outside pressure, respond from a place of peace, and redefine success in a way that reflects what matters most.

The episode also offers a real-life reminder that meaningful things do not have to be perfectly delivered. Even when plans go sideways—or the audio does—the message can still matter. Rather than forcing an ideal outcome, we can work with what we have, trust God with what we cannot control, and recognize that success is not something we have to perform our way into.

        Key Takeaways
        • Successful parenting does not require checking every box or getting every response right.
        • Comparison and fear of others’ judgment can pull parents away from peace and from the needs of their own families.
        • Emotional regulation helps parents respond more intentionally instead of reacting from pressure, fear, or perfectionism.
        • Releasing control does not mean giving up; it means working faithfully with the circumstances and resources available.
        • Imperfection does not erase the value of a meaningful message, conversation, or parenting moment.
        • You can redefine success, trust God with what you cannot control, and still call the outcome a win.
        • Show up with courage each day. Success is not about perfection; it is about choosing to be present, faithful, and willing to take the next step.

        • 23. Feel Like a Failure Instead of Successful? 4 Things to Stop Doing

Have you ever had a season where you're working harder and harder, but somehow feeling less and less successful?

Maybe the market has changed or your business doesn't look like it used to. Are you guilty of comparing your numbers to someone else's? Or maybe you're simply wondering why all your effort isn't producing the results you expected.

          I've been there.

And sometimes the answer isn't another strategy, another goal, or another thing to add to your already full plate.

It's figuring out what you need to stop doing.

In this episode of Redefine Success, we're talking about four things that can make you feel even more unsuccessful when you're already struggling with that feeling.

This isn't about lowering your standards or giving up on your goals.  It's about stepping back long enough to ask a better question:  What does success actually look like here?

Whether you're navigating a difficult real estate market, a career transition, parenting challenges, your health, finances, or simply a season that looks different than you expected, your definition of success may need to change with the season.

You don't have to do more just to prove you're still successful.  Are you in a slow season, an off season, or simply a season that looks different than you expected?  Listen to this episode.

          Ready for Your Next Step?

Understanding where your current state of mind has you either living in fear, overly controlling, mimicking the success of others or going so hard that you are slap worn out is key to God-led Success.  Do you feel like a shift is needed but you just can't pinpoint what that specifically is or even how to do it?   My winning mindset assessment may be able to help uncover which area is dragging you down.  Go to winningmindsetmentor.com/assessment and answer those 13 questions.  I’ll send you a personalized response to help get you in a winning mindset.    Or if you’d like a 1 on 1 mentoring session you can do that too by clicking book a call at winningmindsetmentor.com

        • 22. Stuck in Self-Sabotage? 4 Steps to Get Out of Your Own Way and Win

Remember always wanting to be picked for the winning team? Turns out, adulting isn't any different. We still want victory in our jobs, our families, our goals, our calling. But somewhere along the way, we bought into the lie that winning means going it alone.

In this episode, we're talking about the opponent nobody wants to admit is real: yourself. Self-sabotage, self-doubt, and self-reliance are running plays against you and most of the time, it's friendly fire. We'll dig into what Aristotle had to say about the hardest victory of all, why God-given wisdom is the weapon you were handed the moment you joined Team Jesus, and four practical steps to stop standing in your own way.

Because here's the thing, you were never meant to win this thing solo. It's Team Jesus all the way.

          In this episode, we cover:

          • Why "me vs. the world" thinking is exhausting  and unnecessary
          • The real reason you feel like your own biggest opponent
          • What Aristotle (yes, Aristotle) got right about the hardest victory
          • Why wisdom, not guessing, is how you actually win
          • 4 practical steps to release control and get out of your own way:
            1. Trade self-reliance for surrender
            2. Get yourself off the throne
            3. Stop watching last season's game film
            4. Quit letting the wrong sideline call your plays
            5. Scriptures mentioned:

              • Psalm 28:7
              • Proverbs 1:7
              • Proverbs 3:5-6
              • Philippians 3:13
              • Galatians 1:10

Do Setbacks Have You Feeling Like a Failure? 3 Truths for Emotional Resilience

Have you ever had one small inconvenience feel like a giant boulder in your way? Maybe it was a delay, a technical issue, a frustrating conversation, or one more thing going wrong when you already felt stretched thin. Those moments can stir up emotion quickly, and if we are not careful, we can start making decisions from frustration instead of faith.

In this episode, we are talking about God-led success, emotional resilience, and what setbacks really do and do not mean. A setback is not always a sign that you missed God. It is not always proof that you are incapable. And it does not automatically mean the assignment is over.

We will look at why walking in God’s calling requires a well-lit path, how Scripture helps us recognize the enemy’s traps, and why knowing the Word matters when it is time to stand on the Truth. We’ll also talk about being spiritually awake without living afraid, responding from the Word instead of emotion, and allowing God to renew our minds instead of letting the world shape our reactions.

If you have been feeling frustrated, delayed, or tempted to throw in the towel, this episode will encourage you to pause, pray, get wisdom, and keep taking the next faithful step.
                  In This Episode
                  • Why God-led success requires discernment, not just movement
                  • How emotions can feel real but still not tell the truth
                  • Why you cannot respond with the Word if you do not know the Word
                  • What it means to be spiritually on guard without living in fear
                  • How setbacks can test your response, your peace, and your confidence
                  • Three things a setback does not mean
                  • Why Romans 12:2 matters when emotions try to run the show
                  • Key Scriptures
                    • Psalm 119:105 — God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.
                    • James 1 — Trials test our faith and produce endurance.
                    • Romans 12:2 — Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
                    • 1 Peter 5:8 — Be alert because the enemy prowls like a roaring lion.

                    • 19. Are You Struggling with Burnout? How to Know If You’re Following God’s Lead or Striving in Your Own Strength Leaving You Tired and Unfulfilled

Can you believe it's September!  Yay for College Football and Hot Apple Cider.  Speaking of Cider, The CIDER framework in this episode will help you uncover if you are unintentionally using your gifts and talents for your glory instead of God's.  How often do we build something in our own strength and then wonder why it broken, off track, or failing?

We exhaust ourselves building, pursuing, or maintaining something in our own strength hoping for happiness, security, worth, purpose, or success only to discover that what we built cannot stand up to what we were hoping it would provide. It may satisfy us for a moment, but eventually the anxiety returns, the emptiness sets in, and we find ourselves reaching for something more.

One of the most eye-opening parts of redefining success is realizing that God-led success isn't about proving what we can produce for God. It's about staying close enough to Him that the fruit of our lives flows from His direction, His timing, and His strength.

When we're disconnected from the Source, even good work can lead to burnout. But when we abide in Him, success begins to feel different.

Come have some CIDER with me and get yourself on the right track for God-led Success, get refreshed,  and win the day knowing that where God leads, you are able to follow.

Come on team!  It's time to WIN THE DAY!

Do You Just Want to Be Happy?

Simple Mindset Shifts to Go From Finding Happiness to Living Happy

“I just want to be happy.”

We've all said it. But what do we actually mean?

In this episode, we're redefining happy.  What if happiness isn't something you're supposed to find once your circumstances finally line up? What if it's something you can cultivate and practice even when life isn't going exactly the way you planned?

We'll look at the difference between feeling happy and living in a state of happiness, and how simple mindset shifts can help you cultivate contentment, peace, confidence, gratitude, and joy.

                      We'll talk about:

                      • Why getting everything you want can't be the definition of happiness
                      • Why being happy doesn't mean everything always feels good
                      • The trap of “I'll be happy when…”
                      • The difference between a feeling of happiness and a state of happiness
                      • How contentment, peace, confidence, joy, and gratitude can shape how we experience life
                      • How we can train our brains to notice what's good instead of constantly focusing on what's missing
                      • Why happiness doesn't have to depend on certainty or perfect circumstances
                      • How faith changes the way we define happiness
                      • What it looks like to choose our focus and cultivate a happier life
                      • How redefining happiness can ultimately help us redefine success

                        Disappointment is inevitable.

Sometimes it creeps in slowly through unmet expectations, one-sided relationships, closed doors, and goals that aren't happening on our timeline. Other times, it hits like a freight train and knocks us completely off our feet.

                        But here's the mindset shift:

Disappointment is something you experience. It doesn't have to become who you are.

In this episode, we're talking about what happens when disappointment begins to cloud your vision and how easily it can turn into cynicism.

Because when you start thinking, "I should have known better," "Nothing ever works out," or "Why do I even bother?"—you may have just invited Cynical Cindy into the passenger seat.   And CC knows just how to ruin a great adventure.

We'll talk about how to retrain your brain so disappointment doesn't become defeat, a setback doesn't become failure, and one pothole doesn't become the end of the road.

                        In this episode, you'll discover:
                        • Why it's okay to be disappointed—and why you don't have to rush through the pain
                        • How disappointment can cloud your perspective and distort the way you see yourself, your future, and even God
                        • Why you need to challenge the conclusions you make when you're disappointed
                        • How to recognize when disappointment is turning into cynicism
                        • Why pivoting isn't quitting
                        • How prayer can help clear your mental windshield and restore perspective
                        • Four mental reps for training against cynicism:
                          • Feel it—but don't feed it
                          • Challenge the conclusion
                          • Practice the pivot
                          • Rewrite the old narrative (use white out)
                          • Redefine Disappointment.  And in doing so you'll Redefine Success.

Go pop on those shades.  It's time to Shine ☀️

                          • 16. Experiencing Burnout from People-Pleasing? How to Serve God While Saying No Without Feeling Guilty

Follow, Serve, Rest: How to Be Faithful Without Burning Out

Before you say yes to one more thing in the name of being faithful, listen to this episode. I'll unpack the difference between biblical self-denial and unhealthy burnout. Through Scripture and the example of Jesus, I'll explains why serving others is important but why following God first must always come before trying to meet every need around us.

So many believers want to serve well, love people deeply, and be obedient to God. But somewhere along the way, we can begin confusing faithfulness with constant availability, self-sacrifice with self-neglect, and obedience with overextension.

If Jesus did not live constantly available to every demand, then constant availability cannot be the definition of faithfulness. You can love people deeply without being ruled by their expectations. You can be selfless without neglecting yourself. And you can honor God not only in what you do for others, but also in how you care for the life He has entrusted to you.

Let's learn to follow, serve, and rest.

                            Key Scriptures Mentioned:
                            • Mark 10:43 — “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.”
                            • Philippians 2:3–4 — “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”
                            • Luke 5:15–16 — Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
                            • Luke 9:23 — “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
                            • Colossians 3:23–24 — Work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.
                            • Mark 6:31 — “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
