  • Invaluable Friendships

In order to make your life as balanced as possible, you need to have good people in your life to support you. Friendship is so important for all of us, and I wanted to dedicate a whole podcast episode to it. As working moms, it can be difficult to create new friendships and maintain old ones. What can we do to help make space in our hearts for our most invaluable friendships, even in the middle of all that we have going on?

My guest today is one of my closest friends, and she has so many amazing tips and suggestions for those of us who want to cultivate friendship.

  • After the 9-5

What do you do after work?

This question comes directly from our wonderful Your Life Rocks Facebook Community! It is a wonderful place to be if you would like even more encouragement from other working moms. The issue of what happens after our 9-5 is a common enough question. That time tends to go fast, and we can easily get overwhelmed by our to-do list and the needs of our families.

Today is all about being encouraged and challenged. Let's talk about faith. Take your faith from your little corner of being a Christian and then diving into where God is calling you to be. My guest today is Elisa Pulliam, and she is going to help us get there.

Elisa Pulliam is a certified life coach, mentor, speaker, and author who is passionate about inspiring women to experience a fresh encounter with God and His Word for the sake of impacting the next generation with Kingdom Hope. Her ministry, More to Be, is devoted to helping women unpack the Scriptures and discover how to join God in His work every day. Elisa and her husband, Stephen, savor life together with their four children. She has a fantastic devotional that is coming out today, so I highly encourage everyone to pick it up right away!

  • Faith vs. Fear

One of the biggest reasons working moms pursue life balance is so that their children will have an enriching and fulfilling life. Especially as children get older, it can be more and more difficult to find the time and creative ways to connect with them. That is why I am so excited to have Joy Acaso back on the podcast this week! She is going to share with us her best tips for connecting deeply with our children.

  • Progress vs. Perfection

You've got a fantastic idea about what your Ideal Week would look like, and now you are ready to hit the ground running. Before you can dive right in, it's important to stop and think about the mindset you need when it comes to true life balance. Let's be real; life has a habit of not going according to plan, even the best plans! When you go into your ideal week focusing on perfection, you are going to be let down by reality. Life isn't perfect! So what do we need to look forward to with our Ideal Week? It's progress!

  • Understand Your Communication Style with The Color Code

Balance looks really different for all of us—what works for me might not work for you! In order to know what is going to serve you best, you are going to need to understand what makes you tick. This way, we can work proactively with our nature instead of against it. Today, you are going to spend a little time getting to know yourself with Kelly Knowles and The Color Code. Like Meyers-Briggs and the Enneagram, the Color Code is a personality assessment that we can use to understand how we best interact and communicate with one another.

  • Intentionally Planning the Ideal Week

What does your ideal week look like? Not your actual week, but the one you wish you had! I am a big believer in reaching towards the ideal week, and, yes, I believe you can actually live it out. Let's have a conversation about what makes a week ideal, and how we can take steps towards turning ideals into reality.

If we are going to talk about the ideal week, we have to talk about time management. It is time to ask ourselves: Is the way I'm using my time actually building me up to creating balance in my life? If the answer is "no," then we need to start putting the important things down on the calendar. Don't just put the big things down, and go ahead and add the to-do list to the calendar too! God is clear about how we are to be diligent, hardworking, and intentional, but all of our lives look quite different. By taking a good hard look at how we spend our time, we are honoring that standard God has set for our lives.
