Everyday there's a constant battle between our flesh and being led by the Spirit for every Christian. Although we've been freed through Christ, we still fight against sin and our own fleshly desires. In this section, Paul draws a clear contrast between being led by the Spirit and giving into the flesh. (05-28-17)

Are you living in reality? This is a pretty important question and how you answer it or even more importantly, live in or out of it, has real consequences. Some of the consequences might be small, but some are very big and weighty. If Christ has set you free, are you living free? (05-21-17)

Mother's Day @ Redemption 2017

The opportunity and ability to pursue and acquire what you desire most without constraint or limitation. This or something similar would probably be the definition you would get from a lot of people in a lot of places, but what if this isn't true freedom? What if we've been operating from a definition that could actually enslave us more than set us free? Here, from a unique example, Paul gives us a better definition. (05-07-17)

Saying difficult things isn't something we look forward to; especially when its to people we love. But, saying difficult things that are true is one of the very signs of real, devoted, caring love; no matter the cost. In this passage, Paul's concern for a people he loves won't allow him to stay silent as he sees them slipping back into some really dangerous beliefs. (04-30-17)

There are a lot of voices that try to tell us who we are, wether we do or don't measure up, our true identity. In reality, for those who accept the grace of Jesus by faith, there's only one voice that speaks absolute truth when it comes to who you now that you've been adopted and that's God the Father. Here's what he has to say about you. (04-23-17)

We believe that Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, and went to the cross bearing the full weight of our sins and suffering a real death. We also believe that death could not hold Him, and that He overcame sin, death, and the grave. We have hope because we don't worship a dead man. Our King is risen! (04-16-17)

We struggle to depend on others. We live in a society that praises independence and going it alone. But in Galatians 3, Paul makes it incredibly clear that when it comes to entering the family of God as sons and daughters, you can't work your way in; it's only through faith. Not only that, because of God's promise you also never need to worry about being kicked out, forgotten or abandon. (04-09-17)

Promises are important, especially when they come directly from God. Paul has made it really clear that "The Law" condemns us when we try to follow it to earn a relationship with God. Following the law is simply not enough to save and never would be. So where's our hope? Faith in Jesus; the only one able to provide the promise of new life. (04-02-17)

It's easy to lose our way. It's easy to start on one path and find ourself on another. It's easy to question, second guess, or just get lost along the way. And what need is to be reminded of true north and re-centered on what's true. In the first part of Galatians 3, Paul pleads from three angles with the church to remember the true gospel, a gospel of faith. (03-26-17)
