We believe friendship with Jesus and friendship with one another has the power to revolutionize our lives and our world. But what does real Christian friendship with one another look like? Jesus, preparing His disciples for life without His physical presence, offers them and us a picture of true Christian friendship.

Deep friendship springs forth from love for one another. Jesus not only desires this for us, He commands and expects it. As the world struggles with loneliness, love for one another works in us and through us to give us and our world life. This will not happen accidentally or conveniently. We will need to intentionally, and consistently learn how to love one another the way Jesus wants. Let’s start today.

In all the ways our behavior, our desires, and the world's systems introduce and perpetuate violence and undoing within our world, how can we experience peace? Jesus' promise of redemption and presence is not only a promise for a later time, but a promise for now. If we can experience the presence of Jesus, it will transform our behaviors, desires, and begin to transform our role in undoing the world's systems of corruption. Here's how.

The Scriptures consistently remind us that there are destructive spiritual powers behind the evil and suffering of this world. Can we overcome the present power at work in our world and lives and if so would it look like? Jesus has already begun to upend this kingdom of darkness and shows us the way of God’s kingdom, a Kingdom of love, grace and righteousness.

Jesus offers us the Kingdom of God, paradise on earth. Yet our desires often lead us in directions and towards behaviors that perpetuate violence and the undoing of shalom within our own souls and the world. So what do we do when we can’t even control our own desires? Where can we turn to begin to experience the life Jesus promises us now? James provides an answer for us.

Most of us have some concept of sin. But what does God really think of sin? What is the Divine’s response to our self-destructive habits, desires, and behaviors? Jesus, as the ultimate revelation of the Father, reveals God’s position towards sin, and towards us as sinners, grace.

We live in a world where bad things happen. Evil, sickness, and death seem to be indiscriminate. In all of this pain and suffering, where is the God who calls us friend? How do we reconcile a loving God who longs to know us, with the pain we all must endure regularly? While we don’t have all the answers, we can look to Jesus and find a God who cares enough to suffer with us, and who will one day do something about it.

Life can get complicated and we can lose ourselves in our search for lives that have meaning. But John shows us that Jesus shows us what our lives are supposed to be all about, and the answer is surprising. Our answers to the question of purpose are failing us. Is there a better way? A way that is written in our hearts and at the core of who we are created to be? Jesus says yes.

We focus a lot on the love and grace God gives us through Jesus, this is spiritual life. But what does Jesus want from us in terms of obedience? What does it look like to truly follow Jesus? The Gospel of Jesus transforms our lives so that we and the world around us begin to look radically different. What would it look like if we actually obeyed Jesus very serious command?

As we follow Jesus, we begin to understand and believe who He is. But He invites us deeper, into a more meaningful and profound relationship than we could ever have hoped for or expected.
