  • The Joy Set before Him.

Today we are going to talk about Jesus going to the cross and understand how Jesus looked at the joy set before Him.

Take a moment be intentional and send this podcast to someone else.

“Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.”

    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭23:34‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”

    ‭‭John‬ ‭19:30‬ ‭NIV‬‬

““You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.”

    ‭‭John‬ ‭18:37-38‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

    ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:12-14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

  • Purpose behind pain
There is a purpose behind pain, today Micah and I talk about what it looks like as we discover that purpose. Today I face something that seems so impossible and difficult but Just as Jesus had a reason for His death. I believe that my Pops died for a reason. I may not understand the reason but one day I will when we all get to Heaven.

  • Deny yourself
Today we will search the scriptures and talk about what it means to denying yourself daily and living by the spirit and not the flesh. After recently visiting a church in Covington I was overwhelmed with the amount of impact one man's (Tim Spicer) life had on everyone. We search the scriptures and began to interpret the meaning of denying ourselves.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.  Matthew 16:24 NLT
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.  Philippians 2:3 ESV
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.  Romans 8:18 NLT

  • To Live is Christ to Die is gain.
In today's episode, we talk and elaborate on 'For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. '  Philippians 1:21
While we all face challenges in this life we can see that living for Christ is something that should not change despite our situations. We need to make the most out of every situation and opportunity by displaying love and witnessing to others. We encourage you to search the word for yourself and see what God is saying to you today.
Audience challenge: Encourage someone today, The best way to get rid of the feeling of discouragement is to encourage.
    Verses mentioned in the podcast:
'For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. '  Philippians 1:21-24
'As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. '  Philippians 1:13
'Don’t you know that the runners in a stadium all race, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way to win the prize. Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable crown. '  1 Corinthians 9:24-25
'Vengeance and retribution belong to me. In time their foot will slip, for their day of disaster is near, and their doom is coming quickly.” '  Deuteronomy 32:35

  • Unshakeable Foundation

In today's podcast, we discuss the unshakeable foundation. We look at the story of Luke 6:46-49. We talk about obeying God and digging deep into His word. While it may be easy to follow the crowd and build a life on the foundation of this world it is not worth it. God is our only security everything else is insecure. We must continue to dig deep and continue to seek him even through the trials. Our plans may change things happen that are tragic, but God can still use those events for good.
