The Red Devils were not box office and they had to deal with Everton's toughness and physically-tasking corner routines but they came out of the test with the points and revenge for losing to David Moyes earlier this season.

The winning run came to an end on the road in East London after Man United drew 1-1 with West Ham but Michael Carrick remains unbeaten in his time in charge of the club across two spells.

Another W for Michael Carrick against another North London side after goals from Bryan Mbuemo and Bruno Fernandes gave the Red Devils a 2-0 win at home.

The assignment was helped by Romero's red card but Man United still had to get over the line and stop their losing run to the Lily Whites.
