We’ll learn all about the chemical processes and conditions that cause deterioration. Then, we will learn how to create good storage conditions for these documents, as well as basic conservation and repairs. Bring your documents and learn to take care of them with us!
June 23, 2020 | Riverton Museum | Frenchie Draw History with Rob Hendry
Frenchie Draw is the name given to a desolate stretch of sagebrush off US Highway 26 near the Fremont and Natrona County border. As is much of the area, it is an inhospitable piece of land. Nevertheless, during period of time between the World Wars, attempts were made to homestead the area. Promises were made that may have been ambitious, like the ease of raising sheep, and even the possibility of growing watermelons in the area. Attempts to homestead were unsuccessful, and today the area is home to natural gas exploration and cattle ranching.
