No one wants to be described as greedy or materialistic. Yet, each day we deal with stuff and how material things can consumer our lives. Jesus tells a great story in Luke 12 of a man who wanted it all and wanted it now. Jesus uses the story to show how greed and materialism rob us of true thanksgiving.

Today we begin a new series entitled "Whatever Happened to Thanksgiving?" With the arrival of November we are already preparing for Christmas. Thanksgiving is becoming a forgotten holiday and thanksgiving seems less important than ever in our society. Over the next four weeks, we will look at those things that keep us from being truly thankful. We begin today with worry.

We are often called by God to take a step of faith and many times those steps come in the midst of the storms of life. Today we look at Peter as he walked on water in the midst of the storm, as we consider the steps of faith we will need to take to realize the church you've always dreamed of.

Precious is a word we use to describe a new born baby or an animal or loved one, but many of us would never call the church precious. God did. Today, we look at Paul's teaching in Ephesians 4 where he calls the church to unity. As we continue to realize the church we always dreamed of, unity must prevail. To be the precious church of Jesus is to be an united church.

Pastor Kevin continued the "Church You've Always Dreamed Of" series with a message from Matthew 25:31-46 entitled "Meeting Needs in Ministry." How often do we see a need and fill that need? Do we think that somebody else will take care of it? What if that somebody is YOU? Take some time and listen to this message. Hopefully it leaves you encouraged to reach out to a family member, friend or co-worker and encourage them with a message or a blessing of some kind. Remember, we're stringing lights for Jesus.

Pastor Kevin continued his "Dream" series with a message from 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17. This week's emphasis was on discipleship. Are we continuing to grow closer to God? Are we continuing that desire to be closer to our faith? The journey only starts when we say yes to Jesus and we hand our life over. It continues as we draw ourselves closer to God.

Pastor Garrett continued the "Church You've Always Dreamed Of" series with a message about the kid-friendly church. He used the passages in Matthew 19:13-14, Matthew 18:3-6 and Ephesians 5:1. We realize how important children are to the spiritual health of the church. We need to realize and understand that the children are watching us. If we want to see them grow in their walk with Lord, we must show them how much we love the Lord as well. Pastor Kevin continued the "Church You've Always Dreamed of" series with a message on worship. This week's message is entitled, "Making Our Worship Our Witness," from the passage of Isaiah 6:1-8. As we worship and fall in love with God, we want others to see that love and experience that love.

For this week, Pastor Kevin continued the "Church You've Always Dreamed of" series with a message on evangelism. This message is entitled "The Ones Jesus Misses the Most." He used the story of Jesus seeking out Zacchaeus in Luke 19. Jesus made time for Zacchaeus and made him feel wanted. Zacchaeus repented of his sins and followed after Christ. Are we taking the time to reach out to those who don't know Jesus?

Pastor Kevin started a new series called, "The Church You've Always Dreamed Of," with a message from Matthew 7:7-11. This week's message is entitled, "How Big Is Your God?" This week, Pastor Kevin focused on prayer. How do we pray? How often do we pray? Do we honestly believe that we will get what we ask for when we pray? Do we have the right attitude when we pray? We serve a loving God and He will be there for us. Also introduced in this week's message was the prayer triplets. We were introduced to leaders who will be part of a triplet who will pray for each other and the church over the next 6 weeks.
