If you’re dreaming of launching your microschool in 2025, now is the time to get clear on the steps ahead. Ready to move from scarcity to abundance, and from hesitation to action? Tune in and discover the path to building a financially strong and purpose-driven microschool!
Episode Highlights:
Creative Funding for Your Microschool: Exploring Fractional Ownership
Feeling overwhelmed by the need to secure funding? Fractional ownership might just be the solution. We’ll dive into how fractional ownership works, its pros and cons, and if it could be a viable funding vehicle for your microschool. Wondering if there are other ways to raise funds besides tuition? We’ve got some creative ideas that will inspire you.
Sole Proprietorship vs. Non-Profit: Which Structure Is Right for You?
Choosing the right structure is one of the biggest decisions for new microschool founders. Should you go for a sole proprietorship, non-profit, or something else? We’ll break down each option, covering both the benefits and challenges so you can find the right fit for your mission. Want clarity on what structure aligns with your vision? Let’s explore the options.
Pricing Strategies for Part-Time and Specials Classes
Setting prices for specialized classes like art, Spanish, or PE can feel challenging, but it’s essential to charge in a way that reflects the value of your offerings. We’ll discuss how to create a pricing structure that’s both financially sustainable and honors your expertise. Ever feel hesitant to charge what your classes are worth? This is your reminder to recognize your value.
Handling Sick Days and Tuition Policies with Clarity and Compassion
It’s tough to enforce a no-refund policy when students miss school, but having clear policies helps protect your financial stability. We’ll share tips on how to communicate these policies with empathy, while keeping firm boundaries. Struggling to balance fairness with financial security? We’ll walk you through ways to stay clear and compassionate.
Compensating Staff: Salaried vs. Hourly, and Providing Family Benefits
Deciding how to pay your staff—salaried or hourly—can affect your budget and the overall culture of your school. We’ll talk through options for compensation, whether or not to pay during breaks, and ways to support staff with family discounts or tuition-free options for their children. Curious how to build a compensation model that’s both fair and feasible? Listen in to learn more.

Reviewing your structure, policies, and pricing now sets you up for a smooth launch or expansion come January.
