Redvolution Rampage

Oh so close to the restart of hockey, The Carolina Hurricanes are heading to Toronto for the playoff qualifiers with a few questions needing to be answered. Is the team ready? Who will step up? Why have they not resigned John Forslund? All that and more in this episode of Redvolution Rampage!

As a possible restart draws near, we discuss how hockey with no fans might look like, how the WCC is shaping up, Greenville has a new head coach, and the Hurricanes Stanley Cup anniversary.

The Hockey world has not been the friendliest for people of color. Redvolution Rampage Host Omar Abdelgawad is joined by Hockey Coach Derrick Henderson, Ayo Adeniye of the Carleton Place Canadians, Malcolm Hayes of the Kansas City Mavericks, and Carolina Hurricanes fan Darius Kirksey to talk about race in hockey, the barriers that exist for players of color, and the efforts that can be taken to help grow the sport for communities of color.

We continue on in the darkness of a world with no hockey; however, we do have some big news to discuss. Are the Hurricanes leaving the Charlotte Checkers? Will we get playoffs this season? How will arenas make a safe environment for players and fans? Will the NWHL survive?

Though this quarantine continues, the sports world and this podcast continues on. We talk about a sad event in the NHL, should refs be automated, and the return of the dug hug.

Shane Willis, former Carolina Hurricane, and Current Fox Sports Carolina Anchor and in-house hockey expert, joins the podcast to talk about youth hockey, the state of the league, and where his favorite minor league hockey team was.

As we strive to give you the best hockey content in this difficult time, we have a treat for you! Calder Cup Champion, twitch streamer, and Carolina Hurricanes Goaltender, Alex Nedeljkovic jumps onto the show.

Though Covid-19 has us all in our homes, this podcast rolls on. Listen to four friends talk about the latest news in hockey in this dark time with no hockey.
