Here’s the next mix from my recent Jungletrain shows.

For this one, I’ve been focusing on something I hadn’t done in a while—mixing vinyl. It’s been a truly rewarding experience to set the CDJs aside and get back into the tactile joy of the decks. The weight of the 1210 platter, cueing up records by feel, flicking through stacks of wax, recognising labels without always remembering the track names—those little details reminded me why I fell in love with this in the first place.

Lately, I’ve been digging through my old records—rediscovering long-lost mixes and tunes I hadn’t played in years—and figured it was time to start sharing some of them. Hopefully, someone else gets as much out of them as I have.

This particular mix focuses mainly on the era between 1998 and 2002—a curious and transitional time musically for me. A few tracks might fall outside that range, but that’s the vibe I was aiming for. Plenty of these tunes still hold up today.

This one’s a bit longer than usual. It starts off a little wobbly—call it getting reacquainted with the vinyl flow—but it settles in after a few blends. The records sound great, and it’s been a real joy to revisit these sounds.

Here’s Part 2 of the vinyl mix series from last week's Jungletrain show. This time, I’ve taken things in a slightly different direction — expect a tougher, more aggressive edge to the beats and vibes. Think gritty, rolling breakbeats with a darker undercurrent.

I'll be honest — the mixing’s a bit rough around the edges (we're keeping it real here), but the energy and selection make up for it. It’s all vinyl again, centered around that golden 1994–1996 atmospheric jungle sound. Plenty of depth, space, and some proper mood in there.

A few rare gems pop up throughout, and everything was recorded through the SSL 2 MKII with the Legacy 4K analogue enhancement engaged — adding that extra bit of warmth and punch to the signal.

I kicked things off with Antagonist’s “Fables”, a perfect opener with its deep, atmospheric vibes. From there, things started to heat up with Modal’s “Heads or Tails” and some absolute fire from Loxy & Resound – those lads were on repeat this week with gems like “Rion-O”, “Magik”, and “Conflict”. Top drawer production....

The energy stayed rolling with standout tracks like Resound’s “Sapiens [SUBB014]” and Artilect’s “Surreal” – both delivering that deep, cinematic sound I love. And then there was Bungle’s “Plasticity”, absolutely hitting the sweet spot, alongside the timeless Seba with “Smoke” – a recent favourite of mine

Midway through, the set took a darker turn with Dom & Roland’s “Full Moon” and the weight of Homemade Weapons & Red Army’s “Ataxia (Red Army Remix)”. The flow was all about balance – smooth cuts like Jaise’s “One Little Bit” and Ahmad’s “Lesson 2 Learn” sat perfectly alongside the heavier hitters.
