Cowabunga! This week, we celebrate 30 years of our favorite heroes in a half shell – the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Since their comic book debut in 1984, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael, have been present for every generation.
Turtlemania continues to be alive and well as our favorite reptilian heroes have embedded themselves into popular culture with six theatrical films, five TV series, an animated crossover with Batman, a slew of video games and countless comic book appearances.
Steve Barron’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is thus far the best onscreen translation of the heroes. It’s more than childhood nostalgia that makes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles such a beloved film and Dave, Leo and Ryan tell you why this week.
