Reel Feels Podcast

On New Year's Day 1900, Danny (Bill Nunn), a crew member on an ocean liner, finds a deserted infant and decides to adopt him, nicknaming him "1900." As an adult, the eccentric 1900 (Tim Roth) grows into a remarkable musician aboard the boat. Rumors of his brilliant piano playing eventually reach the shore, and his pal Max (Pruitt Taylor Vince) believes that success surely awaits 1900 on land. The only problem, however, is that the enigmatic pianist is loath to embrace life away from the ship.

Jack and Drew FINALLY get to reviewing the long awaited Patreon movie choice of 1998's "Legend of the 1900".  This film has stunning music, an intriguing story and some pretty solid acting.  Tim Roth, playing "1900", gives a very personal performance and engages us in his story.  While Pruitt Taylor Vince takes us along as the narrator, making us feel both at home and leading us to a heartfelt ending.

We are the Reel Feels Podcast, every other Wednesday we'll bring you a new movie with all the feels you can handle.  We'll laugh, we'll cry and possibly restrain the frustrations to curse the heavens. But what you can count on is three guys sharing their love of cinema with you.

Please leave us a review and share your "reel" feelings.

Host Drew is joined once again by our buddy Brad from The Cinema Guys to discuss what everybody has been watching recently. From random movies, Tubi Tuesday watches, television, and even... 2022's The Menu!

It's the most wonderful time of the year once again!  The time where the Reel Feels Boys exchange gifts and draw new genres for the upcoming Season 6!  So fill up a cup of eggnog, slap a bow on those gifts and lets get down to those new genres!  Happy Holidays folks, you're the reelest!

The guys recap on their Hamsmas festivities, go over their new genres for the upcoming Season 6 of Reel Feels, and discuss some of the stuff they've been watching recently.

The Muppets perform the classic Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit the Frog playing Bob Cratchit, the put-upon clerk of stingy Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine). Other Muppets -- Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and Sam the Eagle -- weave in and out of the story, while Scrooge receives visits from spirits of three Christmases -- past, present and future. They show him the error of his self-serving ways, but the miserable old man seems to be past any hope of redemption and happiness.

Can we ask for a more perfect match for our #Puppetry genre AND to have this episode debut in December? I think not!  Nathan brings all of us a fan favorite and a holiday staple for everyone with The Muppet Christmas Carol!  We laugh at the quotable lines, Michael Caines stellar performance and of course the timeless songs.  So join us wont you?  Put more coal on the fire, make sure the prized turkey is roasted and get yourself one more sleep till Christmas!

Tasked with overhauling a university football team that was dismantled for breaking collegiate rules, coaches Wally Riggendorf (Robert Loggia) and Ed Gennero (Héctor Elizondo) pick unusual new players like junior professor Andre Krimm (Sinbad) and 30-something quarterback Paul Blake (Scott Bakula). As Paul courts professor Suzanne Carter (Harley Jane Kozak), the team struggles until the arrival of a female placekicker, who bolsters the squad as it gets ready to challenge its big rival.

Jack pulls a Hail Mary from his childhood and brings us a favorite nostalgia film with his choice of "Necessary Roughness" (1991) for our #Football genre.  Discussing the cast consisting of Hector Elizondo, Robert Loggia, Scott Bakula and Ms. Ireland we continue to gush.  The film has heart and the feels to back it up, while still following the formulaic style of the typical football film.  It's an underdog story that we can all get behind.
