Sheila is back this week to discuss her absolute FAVOURITE film, 'Clueless'. The 1995 Alicia Silverstone breakthrough film was a bonding film for Pauline and Sheila when they were in grade six. And the older siblings in Lisa and Pauline's family all enjoyed this one. But, does the film stand the test of time?? Let's see, shall we??
The movie this week is the 1989 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' - the third movie in the 80's trilogy, starring Harrison Ford and Sean Connery as the father/son duo that have to outwit the Nazi's in 1939 Austria to prevent them from finding The Holy Grail - the cup of Christ that promises long life. This was Lisa's favourite of the Indiana Jones franchise, but does it hold up to her expectations when rewatching it as an adult? Listen now to find out what the sisters think of this classic film.
Pauline's pick this week, and it's definitely different. A film that we both enjoyed as kids, but neither sister has very much recollection as to the actual series of events; this episode is one of a kind! Our 1989 movie, 'Three Fugitives', stars Nick Nolte and Martin Short as two unlikely 'buddies' who become entangled in so many, many problems while on the run. A bizarre, sometimes strange comedy, this 80's film feels VERY 80's in its humour. And the sisters both have very little recall of how this film progresses. Does it hold up? That depends on 'hold up' - it is a film about multiple bank robberies, so... ya know. It... holds... up.
In this episode, Pauline has picked a film that she *thinks* Lisa enjoyed -but she's been wrong about that in the past, so she's not really sure how this movie will be received. Listen to today's Triviasode to find out if Pauline picked a movie that EITHER sister remembers and/or enjoyed, or if the two of them are in for a loooooooong watch this week.
Lisa's pick this week! This oldie is a goodie. With an incredible male leading man, and a rather sentimental story, this is a movie that we absolutely adored as kids. See how long it takes before Pauline figures it out!
