Reflect more on one's own shortcomings, and take other people's strengths......

Listen Later

Reflect more on one’s own shortcomings, and take other people’s strengths into account.

【Xian’er says so: “why not taking me abroad?”】

Xian’er asked Xian’san: “Tell me, why did Shifu take Xian’yi abroad, not me.
Am I that bad?”
Xian’san said nothing.
Xian’er asked Xian’si:“Tell me, why did Shifu take Xian’san abroad, not me?”
Xian’si said nothing.
Xian’er asked Xian’wu:“Why did Shifu take Xian’si abroad, not me?”
Xian’wu said nothing.
Xian’er asks Xian’liu:“Why did Shifu…”.
Xian’liu passes a book to Xian’er and said: “Er, stop asking. Go read and find out what Shifu says there.”

Below are quoted from my Shifu’s new book, Say Good Things—Master Xuecheng’s insight on the path to speaking like a Buddha.
Reflect more on one’s own shortcomings,
and take other people’s strengths into account.
The mind will less likely be out of balance.
