Reflecting on the AAPI Hate Crimes and owning your experiences

Listen Later

In a continuation from last week's episode, my brother, Andre and I discuss the AAPI Hate Crimes that occurred earlier this year. He shares two incidents in which he was targeted, as a half asian, half white mixed person, and we work through our thoughts and feelings around it.

We also discuss micro-agressions, subconscious biases that contribute to upholding racist beliefs and white supremacy and the idea of owning your racial identity - not veiling it or dampening it down, especially in white spaces, because it's important to be our full selves and show the world that we are valuable and worthy.

This episode is heavily based on our own personal experiences and we are not intending to speak for all minorities,  or the entire AAPI community. We simply want to encourage you to examine your own experiences and realize that they are valid.
