Hello, listeners! Dr. F Scott Feil here with another Teach Me Something Tuesday episode. This week, I want to call you to action by asking you to reflect on the teachers who have influenced you throughout your years. It took me too long in my career and academics to realize the great impact that my teachers had on me. I have come to learn that gratitude is an essential mindset to have. I am so thankful for everything in my life that has influenced me and helped me get to where I am, thanks to my amazing teachers. I have found that social media has helped me connect with some of my high school teachers and thank them for the influence they had on me. Even my dad, who was an English teacher for 30 years, influenced me in both a teaching and learning capacity.

Good teachers can show you something you have never seen before and awaken something inside you that you never knew existed. I want to spotlight my teachers, post on social media about them, and have them on my podcast to amplify their impact. But, you don't need a platform to do the same. You can write a simple thank-you note or email to your teachers, mentors, or coaches who have influenced your life. Let them know where you are in your career, and how much of an impact they have had on your life. Not every teacher is a great teacher, but if one or two have influenced you, reach out to them and let them know how grateful you are.

Being thankful for your teachers will make a big difference in your life and in theirs. Teachers are going through a lot, especially with COVID, and they need to know that their work is important and impactful. So, take a moment to reflect on your teachers, reach out to them, and let them know how important they have been in your life. Trust me; it will lift both your spirits and theirs. Thank you for listening to this episode, and I hope it inspires you to reach out to your teachers.

And for PTs, the first hurdle many of us run into is student loan debt. Varela Financial will help you get over that hurdle. They not only take the time to explain to you which plans you individually qualify for and how those plans work, but they ALSO take the time to show you what YOUR individual case looks like mapped out within each option. So if you're looking for help on your student loan debt, or any area of your personal finances, we highly recommend working with them. You can check out Varela Financial out at varelafinancial.com.
