This week we look at two more passages where Matthew points to the Old Testament scriptures with the intention of showing how these prophecies have been fulfilled. First in John the Baptist preparing the way for the Messiah. His message was a message of repentance for the kingdom of heaven was at hand. Jesus also began his ministry with a call to repent because the kingdom was at hand. Was their message the same? And what was this kingdom that they were announcing?
