Here are five reasons some lousy leaders don't put other poor performers on corrective action. Arrogance. Fearfulness. Cluelessness. Negligence. Abdication. Don't be like them.

There's a lot of things leaders have to do. The effective ones do them, even though they are not easy.

Values help with decision-making. When you pay attention to your body, you'll learn when your supporting your goals, and when your sabotaging them. Good leaders aren't afraid of no. They believe, "It's better to know no, now."

Stop Pretending You Want High Performance. Too often there's a convergence of lousy leadership and the acceptance of mediocrity. We've got to break out of the cycle. Be a better role model. Stop stifling your talents to meet the lowest common denominator. Don't lower your expectations because you want less disappointment- raise them and forgive imperfections along the way.
