There is mastery in life but then there is mastery in Christian life. We think we are ready but.... are we? Mastery in Christian life as in everyday life needs time, learning and experience. Not everyone achieves the goal of mastery. For those who undertake the journey, mastery may take years or even a lifetime. For some, by God's grace, much sooner. As David said to his son Solomon "Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it."
Mastery looks ahead, stays focused on a goal. As it says in Proverbs,16:3 "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established." God distributes many gifts that we might master. Come and hear the what, the why and the goal. The what; "He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;" The why; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: The goal "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:" and as Jesus said to His Apostles "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged."
