The effects of Satan's sifting of Peter was that he might -strengthen his brethren.- In these verses Peter would humbly instruct the believer on how to face those often trying situations when we find it difficult to submit under fierce hardships and trials, especially those which appear to have absolutely no benefit to us.

Many believers today are ignorant of the spiritual battle which rages about us as believers. To be ignorant of Satan's devises and the spiritual armor God has provided us through Christ, will certainly lead to spiritual ruin and destruction for the believer. Here in Ephesians chapter 6 Paul declares the spiritual strength of the believer and the armor needed to withstand the wiles of the devil.
