Built as a train depot in the 1890s the Telluride Science and Innovation Center has gone from brew-pub, to art school, to COVID-19 ward, and now hosts a cutting-edge science facility and event venue. Colorado's State Historic Preservation Officer, Dawn DiPrince, invited Mark Kozak and Mark Shambaugh to discuss the recent renovation, and how adaptive reuse helped keep this badly-needed public event space and historic building from being developed into private condos. They discuss the specific magic the Telluride community brought to the project to life, the building's place in the current science scene, and even share a ghost story. All this and more in an exciting and meaningful episode of reFRAMED.
