David and Goliath is often taught as the greatest underdog story ever told, and all you have to do is have faith like David and you can conquer your giants. But what if God had something else in mind with this story? Instead of trying to be like David, we rather see that it was Jesus who was like David, stepping in as the champion of his people, fighting as his people, and achieving victory for his people. Jesus is the great David, and defeated the giant of sin and death.
