A new survey done by a university professor shows that farmers don't like being told to try new ideas like cover crops. A debate about the future of land prices in Saskatchewan and Australia opens it's borders to Canadian beef after 22 years of being closed. Does regenerative agriculture hold the key to farmers financial freedom from the big chemical companies input debts? I believe so, let's talk about why.

In this episode I take a break from farm news and delve into the reasons why farming is helping to create drought conditions. Three widely known documentaries about this are "The Biggest Little Farm", "Kiss the Ground", and "Common Ground". I talk about my own personal experience with drought and regenerated soil. The interview for the week is with Axten Farms who practices regenerative farming in southern Saskatchewan. Tannis Axten gives advice to consumers, "demand better!" If the people in the stores make it known that they want regenerated food, that will better enable the farmers to shift in that direction.

A surprising twist at the biggest farm show on the prairies. A large farm company promoted it's new regenerative program which includes the use of worm castings to boost yields while simultaneously reducing chemical fertilizer use. And an interview with Steve Kenyon, a regenerative rancher from Edmonton, Alberta.

This week I interviewed a Bison ranch near Prince Albert, SK about their annual open farm day event and how they made it so successful. I also talk about an article in the Western Producer that exposes the current mindset of conventional farmers in regards to soil health.
