Region Free Gamers: The Podcast Fluent in Gaming!

Ring in 2019 with Arnie, Masa and Ozzy as they come together for the inevitable discussion on the Super Mario Bros game trilogy on the Nintendo Entertainment System. The crew discusses the original Mario Bros, and the proceeds to the seminal Super Mario Bros (30:30). The Lost Levels is briefly discussed, but Super Mario Bros 2 (a.k.a Super Mario USA or Doki Doki Panic) then takes its rightful place as the proper sequel to the first SMB (1:1:12). The crew rounds out the discussion with Super Mario Bros 3, which just may be the best game of all time (1:31:59).

Join Paul, Ozzy and Arnie as they are joined by Englishman in the Netherlands, Geoff, who regularly goes by @gspotgaming on the web, as they talk about the (at the moment) looming release of the PS Classic and ponder what games they would have removed and which they would have included in their stead. After digging into the enigma that is Geoff, the crew waxes nostalgic about their experiences with the PS1 and the impact it had on gaming (13:11), Geoff chats about the games he wants to get rid of in a very kind English way (43:17); Arnie talks about some of the underrepresented genres in the PS Classic (1:00:46); Ozzy tries to create the perfect machine to counter the SNES Classic (1:20:00) and Paul rounds it out by bringing out some dark horse picks for the machine (1:42:00).

Anthony, or as he is better known on on Instagram, @Polybits, joins Arnie and Ozzy to chat about the most influential video game of the 21st century, Grand Theft Auto 3. In what is decidedly not a family-friendly episode, a range of topics come up, including those lovely 1up ladies of the night that gave so many parents nightmares about what their kids were playing. The crew first chat about Anthony's video-game and stand-up comedy experiences, then explore the early GTAs (29:20), then dive into all the various systems that GTA 3 made popular (1:00:03), then round out the conversation with a discussion on controversy and what GTA meant for the industry (1:40:15). So join the number 1 Hispanic-hosted podcast in Germany for what turned out to be a super-fun episode.   

Take in an episode of the Region Free Gamers on this lovely Thanksgiving holiday, as the entire crew gets together to discuss video games they have been playing lately. On this episode, Ozzy talks about the zen-like effect of Tetris and talks about his tragically short space career (06:03), Masa chats about his disdain for Dragon Quest's MIDI music and becomes the most famous Finnish cowboy in the west in Red Dead Redemption 2 (28:51), Arnie talks about shooting down robots in Binary Domain and the ridiculously long title of the Super Robot Taisen game he has been playing (57:03), and Paul's soul still burns...but we gave him some TUMS, so he is fine now (1:21:10). Arnaldo and Paul are joined by guest host Kelly (@sierranight_gaming on Instagram) and start off talking about the Persona series followed by the setting of Persona 4 and how unique it is relative to other video games in general, and RPGs in particular. We then move on to the colourful cast of characters (33:00), and finish up with a bit of gushing over one of the all-time great video game soundtracks followed by the question - is Persona 4 the best game in the series?
