REGRETS (Part 2)

Listen Later

TO LIVE AND LEARN OR SUPPRESS AND DENY OUR PAST
Main Topics:
Sending kids to school with a cold
Forgetting all the things
Regret
Boundaries and Friendships
Unmet needs
Living independently
Wearing various hats
Being there for a loved one
Funerals and grief
As we roll into this episode, Meghan begins talking about how she has been finding it hard to get back into the groove of all things school. Tasha shares that she had a scheduled day off and was supposed to have a day alone. As most parents will relate, there always seems to be a child that ends up sick and that day swiftly goes. We discuss what the threshold is when it comes to runny noses and when it is ok to send your child to school. How sick is too sick?
The conversation moves to our main topic: regret. When this was brought up as a topic, Meghan quickly said that she didn't have any which begged the question: do you suppress the regret or acknowledge and learn from it? Tash dives deep into her regret, a friendship lost and boundaries crossed. Meghan shares how choices she made as a teenager are surfacing and feeling amplified by unmet needs. Kristine explains how a loved one needed her and she wasn’t there. Was it due to people pleasing and lacking confidence to just say no? Or perhaps the intuition wasn’t trusted. Funerals, what does it mean to us, and to those that are being honoured if we miss them? Do you go to a celebration of life for anyone and everyone that has made an impact, or are you selective? How about that last drink of the night, which ultimately leads to the remainder of your night spent on the bathroom floor. Or perhaps a regret of eating really spicy food on vacation?

We also discuss roles we play, hats we wear and it all tells only the partial story of who we are. Food inspo, are you feeling the good vibe to create a healthy meal for your family night after night?
