This Minihash episode was recorded in person in Bangkok, Thailand during Devcon 7.
In this episode, Jim Chang, co-founder of Catalyst and CrossCats, joins us to talk about the journey of building Catalyst, a platform initially aimed at Cosmos chains, pivoted to focusing on Ethereum rollups, and is now focused on altVMs.
Jim shares insights into their new product, CrossCats, an intent-based bridge facilitating easier and faster transactions across different virtual machines. We dive into the challenges of cross-chain bridging, market predictions, and strategic decisions behind adopting AltVMs over traditional EVM chains. Jim does a great job of explaining the complexities of blockchain interoperability and the potential future landscape of decentralized networks.
Jim previously appeared on Rehash in S4 E9: Millions of Modular Blockchains w/Jimmy Chang, which aired on April 13, 2023, and again in Minihash 003 | EthCC 2024 Recap: Key Insights, Trends, and Conference Highlights w/Jimmy Chang.
