Today we welcome Dr. Karen Mason to the podcast. 

Dr. Mason is Professor of Counseling and Psychology at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She completed an MA in Old Testament at Denver Seminary and an MA and PhD in counseling psychology at the University of Denver with a minor in industrial / organizational psychology. Dr. Mason has managed the Office of Suicide Prevention at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. 

She has worked in the mental health field since 1990. Currently her research is focused on the clergy’s and faith community’s role in suicide prevention. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Psychological Association.

Brad’s journey is marked by a deep commitment to service and a belief that every pastor deserves support and an opportunity to flourish in their local ministry contexts. Just in time for the Valentine's Day weekend, the guys sit down to talk with Matthew and Joanna Raabsmith about their new book, Building True Intimacy:  Creating a Connection that Stands the Test of Time.

Joanna is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Professional Coach serving the greater Memphis area and clients across the county via telehealth. She earned two graduate degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary, a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy and a Masters of Divinity. She is trained in Restoration Therapy (Level 2) and Emotionally Focused Therapy 

Matthew works with clients from a variety of backgrounds and needs in the Memphis area and across the county via telehealth. He has been coaching both individuals, couples, and teams for a number of years, and has over 15 years experience as a pastoral leader and counselor. He holds a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary and is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the ICF.
